My best birds:
White-eyed Vireo in Rooks
Wood Thrush in Rooks
Lewis's Woodpecker in Gove
Lazuli Bunting in Scott
Piping Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, and Sanderling in Rooks
After the Wilson's and Parula in April, the only migratory warbler I got was a Tennessee in my yard. Sad, so sad. The sandpipers made up for the paucity of warblers.
Bell's Vireo-The coolest of the vireos
Red phase Eastern Screech-Owl (this photo courtesy of my eagle-eyed wife who spotted this baby in a clump of leaves)
Hybrid Rose-breasted X Black-headed Grosbeak
Neotropic Cormorant at Kirwin NWR
Neotropic Cormorant at Kirwin NWR
Olive-sided Flycatcher
Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak at Kirwin NWR
Red-necked Phalarope at Kirwin NWR
Ruddy Turnstone at Rooks County State Fishing Lake
Upland Sandpiper
Male Yellow-headed Blackbird
